Where and what to eat in Montagnana

by Matilde

A visit to the beautiful city of Montagnana thanks to Visit Montagnana on the occasion of the visit Montagnana blog tour. You can read the complete article on  Discovering the fortified city of Montagnana #visitmontagnanatour.

In Montagnana the possibilities of a fantastic lunch or dinner are so many and I never expected it!

I will go then to show you the places that I have been able to visit during my tour and list those that I have not visited but equally valid!

One of my favorite places is definitely the Dulcis ice cream shop , overlooking the square and offering a very good and artisanal ice cream.

If you are looking for a place where you can have an aperitif, you can try the croissant with salum i and cheeses of the Zanini Gastronomy  or a tasting of salami typical of the city of Montagnana from  Hostaria Zanarotti.

“Intimate and welcoming place. It has few seats so it is best to book on highlight days. Excellent cuisine with local specialties. Friendly and welcoming staff. Very well stocked with wines for all tastes, but also has beer or soft drinks for the little ones. Right price . Location center of Montagnana. “

“How about a pastry? At the  Pasticceria Caffetteria Favalli I  recommend the chocolate balls and during the Carnival period the pancakes (zabaglione, chantilly cream, cream). Starlet less because often the choice of pastries is limited and for the total absence ( also considering the small size of the room) of seats. A stone’s throw from the central square under the arcades. Parking in front along the street. “

Antonella shows us a wonderful view of the above!

If you are looking for the perfect restaurant for a typical dinner, my advice is to try  Hostaria San Benedetto  to try the typical Paduan cuisine with its typical ingredients.

“Excellent welcome in this beautiful restaurant located within the walls of Montagnana. Perfect for those looking for a place to taste the flavors of typical Paduan cuisine. In particular, gnocchi with cinnamon and raisins, really delicious and unusual, are worthy of note. reminiscent of Renaissance dishes. I also tasted fried asparagus and the menu does not lack the ham, a typical local product. A refined but at the same time familiar atmosphere for this restaurant rich in tradition. “

In the picture we see the gnocchi with butter, cinnamon and raisins that turned out to be a delicious discovery, as well as the ravioli with St. Peter’s herb! Finally, I really liked the Moscato Zanovello.

(price for a complete dinner around 40 euros)

Finally, at the highest level we find the Aldo Moro  restaurant   characterized by a refined atmosphere, where, in each of the individual dining rooms, our guests can spend moments made delicious by an excellent cuisine.

Know and rediscover the typical flavors of the tradition of our local land and national cuisine. Our sweet ham or cod prepared according to the recipe of our grandmother Luigia.
